This is just outside of Cannon Beach at just over 500 ft. of elevation. The wind was evil and I had to work hard to find my Chi.

Get your Chi on at the little tavern in downtown Manzanita, if you are not already past there.
Were you able to get some more critter proof food storage containers? Great beach camping across from the Twin Rocks at (I shit you not) Rockaway Beach.
A tip: Arrange your day so that you go through the strip mall hell of Lincoln City early in the day and can come out the other side to relax.
Also: Beautiful camping by Waldport, just (excruciatingly) uphill from Newport. You'll probably be there in two or three days.
